The three-year national Eucharistic Revival, now in its second year, is “a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery here in the United States by helping us renew our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.” (USCCB)
An initiative in faith formation that seeks to develop a renewed appreciation and participation in the Mass and Eucharist among faith formation families, is successfully taking root in the Dioceses of Paterson, Metuchen, and beyond. You are invited to come and learn more about this innovative program that moves beyond a sole reliance on the traditional classroom model and enables both parents and their children to learn and live their faith prayerfully and sacramentally.
Deirdre Nemeth, Director of Faith Formation at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Stirling, will present the development, religious foundations, and practical applications of this Christ-centered program. She authored a book about this program called “I am the Way, the Truth” which received the imprimatur from Bishop Sweeney. A panel of DREs will be present to share their experiences and answer questions. Other DREs who have already implemented this program are encouraged to be present as well.
Dr. Steven Serafin, Pastoral Associate at St. Bartholomew Parish in Scotch Plains, will share a different but also successful approach that unites the family in their journey of learning and living their faith.
