St. Paul Inside the Walls / Office of Evangelization
Vicar for Evangelization and Executive Director of St. Paul Inside the Walls
Ordained in 1985 for the Diocese of Paterson, Fr. Manning was appointed Vicar for Evangelization and Executive Director of St. Paul Inside the Walls by Bishop Serratelli in June of 2012. His vocation was nurtured, as the eighth of ten children, in the faithful home of his large family, and was discovered while studying wildlife management at Virginia Tech. After completing undergraduate studies in philosophy, he earned an S.T.B. and M. Div. at St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD. He ministered in parishes as parochial vicar, priest in residence, and pastor for twenty-seven years. As diocesan vocation director for ten years, he worked with men and women in discernment and formation. He served in the field of education for nineteen years as chaplain, theology teacher, and president of a Catholic high school, and, most recently, as Vicar for Education. Fr. Manning sees his past priestly assignments as providential preparation for his current work and is excited to be engaged in the ministry of the New Evangelization. Convinced that God reveals himself in truth, goodness and beauty, and most especially in a relationship with Jesus, the Lord, he feels blessed to be living and working at St. Paul Inside the Walls, where these are sought and encouraged.
Director of Catechesis as Evangelization
Fr. Anderson has done missionary work in both Central America and in Italy. He also has studied catechesis on a parochial level in the Diocese of Rome. He truly understands that religious education is one aspect, or a moment, within the context of evangelization where those who have heard the initial proclamation of Christ and have accepted it, begin a more systematic journey towards a mature faith in and communion with Jesus Christ. Fr. Derek is a SOLT priest who holds a STL and is a STD candidate in dogmatic theology from the Angelicum University in Rome.
Academic Dean for Evangelization
Allan Wright has a wide range of Catholic educational experience on both high school and college levels which have prepared him for the responsibility to ensure that all of the courses at St. Paul Inside the Walls are consistent with the magisterial teaching of the Catholic Church. In addition, he teaches courses on scripture and oversees the “evangelizing element” of all other presentations. He is the published author of three books on scripture and holds a MA in Theology from Immaculate Conception Seminary. His work at the Center is testament to his belief that “evangelization is bringing the good news of Jesus to every person in every situation.”
Program Director for Evangelization
As the first employee of St. Paul Inside the Walls, Ginger Kamenitzer knows its unique story of development. She brings this knowledge to fruition in her position as coordinator of planning, scheduling, and executing Center programs. Ms. Kamenitzer has done both undergraduate and graduate work in education, and she has thirty years teaching experience in math, science, and religion. Her present work in evangelization is a means of inviting others home to the Church.
Director for Deacons
Kevin Cleary is the Director of the Permanent Diaconate for the Diocese of Paterson. He is responsible for all permanent Diocesan deacons and the men in diaconate formation. Since his ordination in 2001, he has served at St. Luke Parish and has been trained in annulments and convalidation of marriages in support of the Marriage Initiative announced by Bishop Serratelli. With an economics degree and much business experience, he believes and teaches that all people can and should bring Christ to the workplace.
The responsibilities of a business manager are manifold, and Dennis Rodano has the experience and education to assure that the Office of Evangelization has sound financial and operational procedures to support all departments and programs. He has a Bachelor’s degree in business and history and a Master’s in educational administration. Mr. Rodano came to the Center from DePaul Catholic High School where he was Director of Facilities and Capital Projects. His philosophy of evangelization is evident by the work he does, for he believes that by providing a warm and welcoming environment, he and the other staff members can help the individual on a life-long journey with Christ.
